Born on 10th Feb, Enenche Aba (Beat Sleenga) had early musical influences like his uncle, Tom Aba, Bongos Ikwe, Fela Kuti, Doctor Dre & Snoop Dogg (which explains the nonchalant PIMP swagger he exudes).
Beat Sleenga started out as a child singing and playing keyboards in church while honing his lyrical skills by writing songs for the choir. Buy age 14, Enny B (as he was then known) was cutting class at school to compete in street freestyle battles.
Sleenga gained admission into University to study engineering and while in college, he joined a gospel band called ‘The 7even’ as its seventh member and toured several Nigerian university campuses.
In 2001 B. Sleenga left the group to explore his rapping and production talents and by 2002 he was signed to the Abuja based Impact Records, headed by prolific producer, Abu Marwa. After a 2 year stint as a producer and member of the rap duo, B.Kd (B Slee & K Dobb), he left Impact to co-found Heavy Rotation Enterprises (an entertainment outfit) alongside his friend and former label colleague, Soklems.
Beat Sleenga is currently the CEO of makCD music (a talent development outfit) and has produced for the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Hele9th, Jumabee, Biggie Brown, Eye-Six-One, Danny Vembs, TK-Swag, Elisha, Jay Henry, Soklems, Rogueman, Double OJ, Da Natives’ AJay'P and many more. He is known for infusing African sounds with hip-hop/urban music and is something of a role model wherever he goes.
Having released a teaser in form of the mix tape '9ja Grade' and mastering the art of sound engineering, Beat Sleenga is poised to release his debut LP: '9ja Hi Grade'. Below you can fine a couple of singles from the much anticipated album!
